Given that ethanol is a renewable resource, there are no reserves.  The corn must be regrown each year.  In order to increase production, more land is used to grow corn for ethanol each year. Researchers in Pennsylvania and Indiana conclude that the elimination of crop rotation in order to grow more government-subsidized corn has deleterious effects on the environment.
